Russian Caravan

If you like your tea strong with lots of flavour then Russian Caravan definitely hits the spot every time. Russian Caravan has a distinctive smoky aroma which comes from blending Lapsang Souchong with deep Chinese red teas. It is best drunk black but I have to admit to enjoying mine with a splash of milk.
Although a blend of Chinese teas, its name originates from the 18th century camel caravans that carried cargoes of tea and spices from tea-producing areas (namely India, Ceylon and China) to Europe (via Russia). It took at least half a year to make the six-thousand-mile journey along the Silk Road from the Chinese border to Russia, and the voyage was harsh. This tea pays homage to that journey.

Tea has such a rich and noble history which extends back five thousand years. It was such a precious commodity that was usually only enjoyed by Emperors, Kings and royalty. Today it is the second most popular drink, after water, and two billion cups of tea are drunk around the world every day. We are so lucky that this wonderful drink is now so readily available and that we can all enjoy the benefits and virtues of tea.

Love...Cake!

Our new year's resoulution for 2011 was to try and eat less cake, but as we are surrounded by delicous creations from The Cake Store everyday, this is virtually impossible. They say, a little of what you fancy is good and there is nothing we love more than a nice slice of cake with a cup of tea.  Bliss!

A Berry Merry Christmas

Only two more sleeps until the big day and there's lots of rushing around making final preparations. Just remember, amidst all the chaos, to take some time out for yourself and relax with a nice cup of tea.
Wishing you all a very happy Christmas

Mad As A Hatter

MAD HATTER: Have I gone Mad?
(Alice checks Hatter's temperature)
ALICE: I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret, all the best people are.

Spring Time - In The Garden

A day off from the shop today and thankfully the sun is shining. Time to get out in the garden! Today Cliff and I mowed the lawn, dug up the vegie patch and planted some herbs and flowers, while Jack, our gorgeous Cocker Spaniel, was nearby chasing lizards and rolling in dirt. Now we're sitting down to a well-deserved cup of tea and a slice of cake.

Mindfulness

"Drink your tea slowly and reverently,
as if it is the axis on which the world earth revolves
- slowly, evenly, without
rushing toward the future;
Live the actual moment.
Only this moment is life" - THICH NHAT HANH
